Can you train the UK's most highly skilled young people to achieve success at the WorldSkills Competitions in Calgary (2009) and London (2011) as a volunteer Training Manager/WorldSkills Expert?
In 2007 UK Skills took a team of 23 highly skilled young people to the WorldSkills Competition, the largest international skills competition in the world, involving 46 member countries. We returned with one gold medal, one silver medal, two bronze medals and nine Medallions of Excellence. Overall the UK improved its world ranking to 11th place.
But we intend to do even better in 2009, and especially in 2011, when the WorldSkills Competition comes to London. That's why we are looking for dynamic training managers to lead the training of the UK Team, and to help drive standards up.
This unique role offers outstanding career and professional development, including the opportunity to gain a Postgraduate Masters Degree in Performance Management. It offers international perspectives and travel, including attendance at WorldSkills Calgary 2009, and the chance to work with professionals at the forefront of skills and their development in the UK and world-wide. No salary is attributed to this post - but we shall do our utmost to ensure that you are supported in your role and development. Out-of-pocket expenses relating to this role will be reimbursed.
