The Cyfenter2 Development Partnership (DP) is jointly funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and the Equal programme of European funding. The aim of the Cyfenter2 Development Partnership is to inform and develop mainstream policies and practices which are truly client focused and respond to the principle of diversity - both reaching and supporting a wider range of entrepreneurs when starting, running or growing a business in Wales. To achieve this aim the Cyfenter2 Development Partnership are conducting a programme of primary and secondary research on the growth and sustainability of Welsh businesses. This has consisted of undertaking a survey of businesses in Wales on a sample of 2678 business owners. Focus groups have been conducted across Wales to discuss in more depth the experiences business owners have. The topic areas we focus on are: * Business support services * Growing and sustaining a business * Management skills and training of both business owners and employees * Business acquisition and succession * Home based entrepreneurs This research focuses in particular on identifying any additional, and sometimes multiple barriers and issues being experienced by groups who are currently under represented in enterprise - women, minority ethnic groups, 16 to 30s, Welsh speakers, over 50s, sole parents and disabled people.
