This report seeks to assess whether life long learning enables individuals to move up the social class hierarchy as measured by the prestige of their occupation (operationalised by its CAMSIS score). By ‘life long’ learning we are mostly focused on qualifications gained by adults returning to education after a period in the labour market, but we also give some attention to courses that do not lead to a qualification; either at work or in leisure time.
