The Welsh economy has enjoyed a period of sustained economic growth, combined with rising levels of employment and average incomes for more than a decade. Moreover, GDP per head in Wales has increased relative to that of the EU. However, like the rest of the UK, the economic challenges Wales will face over the next few decades will be different from those faced over the past decade.
