This report is one of a series of reports commissioned by the Higher Education Funding Council for England which draw on a recent European Commission Framework project: The Flexible Professional in the Knowledge Society - new demands on higher education in Europe (the REFLEX project). This report presents a comparative analysis of what competences European and UK graduates report they need to do their current jobs, some five years after graduation, and whether they possess these competences. It also explores activities undertaken during and after higher education that may have contributed to the development of graduates’ competences.
