
The Department for Education and Skills has revised several sets of regulations that cover reporting to parents, the Common Transfer System, Governors’ Annual Reports, School prospectuses and School Target Setting. The new and amended regulations came into force on 1 September 2011.
This stakeholder consultation seeks views on the proposed policy changes to higher education funding and financial support for part-time study in 2012/13. Responses are required by 3 October 2011
The recent guidance addresses additional duties on statutory organisations, particularly on child poverty, resulting from the Children and Families (Wales) Measure 2010. This guidance complements and should be read in conjunction with Shared Planning for Better Outcomes (2007) and Stronger Partnerships for Better Outcomes (2006) dealing with duties under the Children Act 2004. The original guidance remains in place.
Funding is available for teachers and headteachers to undertake visits to a partner school in any country classed as long haul destination (i.e. outside Europe). The purpose of the visit should be to set up a curriculum based partnership or develop an existing link. Travel, board and lodging costs can be funded. The maximum grant per person for a visit is £1000.

The CLIC PSE lessons are now available on the ProMo-Cymru website under the resources section. There are in total ten lesson plans: five for Key Stage 3 and five for Key Stage 4. These detailed lessons plans comply with the Personal and social education (PSE) Framework for 7 to 19-year-olds in Wales and use the CLIC website as a tool to explore topics within the PSE curriculum.
