The 2-Week Primary Teachers' Project has been a very successful annual initiative since 2009. The aim is to support the training of primary school teachers engaged or interested in teaching a modern foreign language at KS2 or currently supporting a visiting MFL teacher in their classroom. To take part in the 2012 initiative you will need to submit an expression of interest by 17th June 2011.
The Welsh Chess Union (WCU) is keen to support the establishment of chess clubs in every school in Wales, and has been encouraged by the Welsh Assembly Government in taking forward this aim. If you would like to get a chess club going in your school, please look on the WCU website for ideas and for help in getting started.
The aim of these training materials is to help senior leaders, governors and staff in schools in Wales to gain the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to support the development of effective pupil participation.
The Welsh Assembly Government commissions a wide range of resources which support the teaching of Welsh as a subject, other subjects through the medium of Welsh, and bilingual (Welsh/English) materials to support the teaching of Wales-specific aspects of the school/college curriculum.
