
The presentation provides a general overview of the findings, including information on the supply of and demand for generic skills in Wales according to both employers and individuals. It identifies any significant differences between individuals' and employers' hopes and views in relation to training and learning in Wales. It also gives employers' opinions on the importance of generic skills to business and individuals' views on the usefulness of advice and guidance services.
Feedback from attendees so far has been excellent. 97.5% of attendees said that the presentation was either good or very good and the same proportion felt that the presentation and the findings were relevant to their job.
Suggestions for areas to focus further analysis of the information collected by the survey are welcomed by the Future Skills Wales team, and many interesting ideas have already been put forward. For example, we have been asked to look at the results in terms of rurality/travel to work areas, to break down the figures as far as possible in terms of industry sectors and to consider how to help produce classroom materials for careers advisers and teachers.
