Schools and Local Authorities in Wales are being encouraged to get involved in this year’s Anti-Bullying Week. They can do this by promoting the issues surrounding bullying during this week through the school assembly, the curriculum or by other means. Theme 3 of the Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL Cymru) 'Say no to bullying' is a short (one or two week) theme which would be suitable for anti-bullying week. The Welsh Assembly Government has also produced a self-assessment toolkit to help schools improve their anti-bullying policies.
The Welsh Assembly Government’s Basic Skills Unit is organising three workshops for Key Stage 2 teachers in February 2011, to be led by the expert Gary Wilson. Gary has written extensively on the subject and is in great demand for training workshops on this subject throughout the UK.
