
The length of time for objections to be raised about school reorganisation proposals has been reduced from two to one calendar month Education Minister Leighton Andrews has announced.
In June 2010, following the publication of the review of the cost of administering education, the Minister for Children, Education and Lifelong Learning established a Front Line Resources Review to push more funding to the education front lines. In the original report one suggestion was that delivering education through a small number of regional consortia-based teams would reduce overhead costs and improve services. The Front Line Resources Review has been driving forward this idea at pace.

In order to gather detailed information on the arrangements for and delivery of Welsh second language, the Welsh Assembly Government has commissioned Arad Research to undertake a national research project which will provide an important evidence base to inform future developments. WorldSkills UK is the name given for a series of around 60 skills competitions that take place annually across the UK. Competitions fall under 5 main sectors (Built Environment, Cultural and Creative Arts, Engineering, IT and Business Administration and Social and Professional Services) and cover competitions ranging from Carpentry, Floristry, Industrial Electronics to Web Design and Beauty Therapy.
