The key points from the latest release are: by January 2008, of students completing ITT courses for whom their destination was known: 92 per cent of PGCE qualifiers were in employment only and a further 3 per cent were in a combination of employment and further study. 2 per cent were assumed to be unemployed. 90 per cent of first degree qualifiers were in employment only. 3 per cent were in a combination of employment and further study, which remained the same as the previous. The key points from the latest release are around three-quarters of both Welsh domiciled qualifiers (78 per cent) and qualifiers from Welsh institutions (77 per cent) entered some sort of work. 5 per cent were assumed to be unemployed, with the majority of the remainder entering study only. More
Deputy Minister for Skills, John Griffiths has congratulated Victoria Griffiths and Ricky Hilton for winning Wales three gold medals at the first ever EuroSkills Competition in Rotterdam. EuroSkills is a new three day competition in skills ranging from hairdressing to farriery. Watched by 40,000 spectators, 400 competitors from 29 countries competed in 25 different competitions covering 49 different vocational skills. More

The “Moodle” online resource will facilitate the sharing of good practice by further education (FE) colleges large and small, north and south, east and west. More
The Department for Children, Schools and Families has announced a package of reforms to strengthen standards in schools and help the school workforce to carry out their duties more effectively. New legislation will be introduced to make sure all schools comply with existing provisions, for example giving teachers guaranteed time away from the classroom in which to plan and prepare lessons and assess pupils, including extra time for newly qualified teachers.
