The purpose of the duty is to make sure that children missing from education are identified quickly and that effective monitoring systems are put in place to ensure that the young person gains access to the most appropriate provision as quickly as possible.
The Draft SASW sets out the minimum requirements to be met by recognised Welsh apprenticeship frameworks. This is the first version of the SASW and is issued to replace the Apprenticeship Blueprint on a non-statutory basis. The final version of SASW will be available from October 2010 and will take effect from 6th April 2011.
Providers can obtain Unique Learner Numbers for their students who are undertaking QCF qualifications. Their students' achievements will then be recorded on an electronic learner record. To get Unique Learner Numbers for students, providers must first register with the Learner Registration Service as a Learner Registration Body. The QCF is part of the wider Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales (CQFW).
The newly released Labour Market intelligence and Planning Toolkit replaces the former National Learning And Skills Assessment and has been designed to meet the needs of post-16 learning providers and other Assembly Government stakeholders. It includes up-to-date labour market intelligence at national, regional and local (unitary authority) level.
