
The annual digest of statistics from the General Teaching Council for Wales covers a range of indicators including the age, gender, ethnicity, qualifications and disability status of teachers and head-teachers. This year, for the first time, it gives a statistical analysis of deputy and assistant head teachers in Wales’ schools. GTCW press release.
This pupil level data collection takes place in June for secondary schools. It should include attendance data for all pupils of compulsory school age who were on roll during the reporting period.

The UK India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) aims to enhance educational links between India and the UK. It has recently been extended for a further 5 years and will be of interest to HE and FE institutions across Wales. The Welsh Government, as a contributing funder of the initiative, is facilitating an information workshop on 10 June at the University of Wales Newport city centre campus.
