The regulations will amalgamate and replace current school funding regulations made under the School Standards and Framework Act 1998. The Welsh Assembly Government proposes to make the regulations by 31 March 2009 with changes coming into effect for the financial year 2010-11. Responses are invited by 15 December 2008. More
A £35 million scheme to help people facing redundancy has been announced by the Welsh Assembly Government [Wednesday, October 15]. The ReAct programme will help over 12,000 redundant workers gain new employment or training, and is made possible with over £15m from the European Social Fund, which is managed by the Assembly Government. The full timetable for relicensing the entire network of Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) was released by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills. To continue operating, each of the UK’s 25 SSCs will have to reapply for a licence, which will be awarded if the organisation can demonstrate the confidence, support and influence of employers within their sector across all four UK nations.
