Education Minister Jane Hutt has lent her support to a week-long annual celebration of the role played by Wales’ youth workers and the groups they run. Youth Work Week, which starts on November 1, is a Welsh Assembly Government supported initiative designed to encourage more young people to get involved in regular community-based activities and to persuade more people to become volunteers and youth workers. This year over 300 events will be taking place across the country in support of the week.
More than £34 million will be invested in a work-based learning programme to help almost 8,000 people across West Wales and the Valleys improve their skills while remaining in their jobs, Education Minister Jane Hutt has announced.
