This is a collaborative, cross sector event brought to you by JISC RSC Wales, with the support of LearnTech Wales, Moodle-Wales and Community eLearning Wales. The aim of the event is to share good practice and experiences in new and existing technologies from across the sectors.
Outstanding learners and teachers were recognised as the top performers across colleges in Wales, and five colleges were awarded for driving improvements that benefit learners.
The key points from the latest release (compared to January 2009) are: 20 less local authority (LA) maintained schools and 2,500 fewer pupils; 4 more independent schools; 275 less teachers (full time equivalent) in the LA maintained sector.
Estyn is inviting applications from headteachers, deputy and assistant headteachers to train as Peer Inspectors for Welsh medium schools. Peer Inspectors will be full members of the inspection teams from September. Applicants may or may not have experience of working on Estyn inspections or may have trained previously as a Peer Assessor. A four-day training/assessment programme will be organised in September. Applications must be submitted by 5 July 2010.
