First Minister, Rhodri Morgan spoke of the importance the UK School Games play in helping our children develop active habits which will last a lifetime at a reception to celebrate the event coming to Wales in September. The UK School Games are part of the UK build up towards the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London. The UK School Games will take place in Wales from the 3rd – 6th September 2009.
Apprentices are learning valuable skills which will be a strong asset for Wales’ future, Deputy First Minister and Minister for Economy and Transport Ieuan Wyn Jones said. The number of applicants to UK universities and colleges is up 9.7% on this time last year. Data released by UCAS refers to the number of applications for people applying for full-time undergraduate courses by 30 June. So far this year, 592,312 people have applied to start courses this autumn compared with 540,108 at the same point last year.
