
Education and Skills Minister, Leighton Andrews, has approved over £6million over three years for the roll-out of the Welsh-language Sabbatical Scheme, which aims to improve standards in teaching and learning in Welsh-medium education and training.
Estyn has published a report, “Money Matters: the provision of Financial Education for 7-19-year-olds in primary and secondary schools in Wales”. The report was commissioned by the Department for Education and Skills as part of its ongoing programme of work to support the Welsh Government’s Financial Inclusion Strategy. The report evaluates the quality of provision for learners, identifies case studies of good practice, and provides recommendations for improvement in the provision of financial education for 7 to 19-year olds in schools.
