
There were improvements, at a sector level, in all measures of learner outcomes between 2006/07 and 2007/08. There remains variation in rates across subject areas. The overall learning activity success rate for FE in 2007/08 was 67 per cent, i.e two-thirds of activities were successfully completed and attained.
The key points from the release for persons aged 19 in 2006/07 are: 96 per cent had attained the level 1 threshold, 71 per cent had level 2 and 46 per cent had level 3. 46,890 NVQs and 75,190 VRQs were awarded in Wales. The number of NVQs awarded in Wales increased by 14 per cent compared with 2006/07. This follows an increase of 4 per cent between 2005/06 and 2006/07 and continues the upward trend since 2001/02.
