The Centre for Excellence and Outcomes in Children and Young People’s Services (C4EO) is a dynamic new organisation, developed for the children’s sector, from the children’s sector in England.
C4EO is a newly launched consortium dedicated to identifying and co-ordinating 'what works', to create a single and comprehensive picture of effective practice in delivering children's services. Using this information, C4EO will offer support to local authorities and their Children’s Trust partners, working with them to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families in England.
C4EO will work with a consortium of leading national organisations: National Children’s Bureau (NCB), National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER), Research in Practice (RiP) and the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE). C4EO is funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).
The main aim of C4EO is to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families in England by identifying and coordinating the evidence of ‘what works’ at national, regional and local level.
C4EO plans to build a single, comprehensive picture of good practice, identifying the systems and methods that are making a difference to children and young people’s lives.
Using this information, C4EO will offer support to local government, Children’s Trusts and other stakeholders, working in partnership to help increase the effectiveness of their services.
In this way C4EO aims to encourage a culture of improvement, underpinned by a passion for doing the very best for all children, young people and their families.
