Mercure Holland House, Cardiff
In association with the Welsh Assembly Government, Working Links and Jobcentre Plus we are proud to launch the first Welfare to Work Wales Convention 2008.
The Convention will highlight the uniqueness of Wales’s labour market and its contribution to the UK Welfare Reform agenda.
Welfare to Work Wales will provide the opportunity for consultation on the Welsh Assembly Government’s new Skills and Employment Strategy; - ‘Skills That Work for Wales’ – that will assist in boosting Wales’ prosperity and its ability to respond to the needs of employers, businesses and those in and out of work.
Welfare to Work Wales will bring together policy makers and practitioners from across Wales and beyond to discuss and debate the latest developments in welfare reform, with particular emphasis on the devolved and non-devolved policy areas of skills and employment.
The Flexible New Deal (FND) will be the first programme to be commissioned through the Department for Work and Pensions’ (DWP) new Commissioning Strategy. Expressions of interest are now being sort for the delivery of Flexible New Deal (FND) across Wales. The Convention will provide an opportunity for prospective prime contractors and other providers to plan how to meet the challenges and opportunities in Wales.
With sponsorship, exhibition and networking opportunities, the Welfare to Work Wales Convention 2008 is an event for everyone involved in helping people in their transition to employment, and helping people sustain employment.
